Not at all,when you bet on dogs it means that you are better off playing them on the M/L as you won't need the points. They are most likely going to win straight up.Like Cleveland last week as a 7 point dog, if you thought they would win(they did) then you wouldn't need the 7 points,they were most likely going to win the game

Or if you like a favorite,don't worry about the high spread as it rarely comes into play.Just like Seattle last week. The spread was like -18 so if you thought they would win don't worry about the high number as if they win(they did) they would also cover the number.

This is nothing new really.... been this way a long, long time, year after year. If you can pick winners straight up, bet them and forget about the spread, don't bother looking at them..... spend that time counting your $.

Very true. I remember when I first moved to Vegas and a friend was telling me about the Station Casinos NFL game (where you pick W/L for every game, every week and the guy with the most wins gets a huge prize like a house, guy with most losses gets something similar). I made the comment "ah, picking losers would be easy! I'd go that route". To which he replied: "if you can pick losers, you can pick winners, it's not that simple". I've learned a lot in this town since then but for some reason that little convo always stuck out to me.

Anyway, thanks for keeping this updated. Even though this is always the case to a degree, I have to believe this year might be a bit of an anomaly so far at least.

Great conversation I am sure and is something to always to refer back to. Think ??...41 games played into this out of 306 games last year ! ( post # 14 ) and is same year in and year out. ....It's funny when I bring this up to a game player, time and time again, I am told I better check my math, I am insane, I am giving bad info..... I am not saying by no means is it easy as it looks, but when you think about it is really remarkable !... and is not a "one hit wonder"...is consistent $ year after year.
