Doug Martin rushed nine times for nine yards and caught a seven-yard pass in the Bucs' Week 1 loss to Carolina, before exiting with a left knee injury.
Embarrassingly, FB Jorvorski Lane (1-54) and 35-year-old QB Josh McCown (3-27) both outgained Martin. Martin was in and out of the game due to the injury. As the Buccaneers' offensive line lost LG Logan Mankins (knee) early on, there were no running lanes for Martin against Carolina's stout front. Martin did operate as an every-down back when healthy, but lost work to Bobby Rainey in the Bucs' hurry-up offense late in the game. (Rainey scored a six-yard receiving TD). Keep an eye on Martin's health.

According to FOX's Jay Glazer, the Bengals are "hopeful" TE Tyler Eifert will only miss a few weeks.
Eifert's dislocated elbow reportedly "popped right back in." He'll still have to let the ligaments in there heal some before getting back on the field.

Texans OLB Jadeveon Clowney has a torn lateral meniscus and could miss 4-6 weeks.

Coach Ron Rivera said Cam Newton (ribs) is expected to play in Week 2.

Following Sunday's loss to the Bills, coach Marc Trestman downplayed Alshon Jeffery's hamstring injury.
Jeffery missed the fourth quarter and overtime, finishing with a 5-71-0 line on six targets. "Alshon was prepared to go in there at specific times. I'll just leave it at that," Trestman said

Jordan Reed will have an MRI on his hamstring.
Reed tried to hurdle a defender early in Sunday's Week 1 loss at Houston and pulled a muscle. Afterward, coach Jay Gruden called the injury a legit concern

ESPN Ravens reporter Jamison Hensley believes Justin Forsett has "earned the right" to start Thursday night's Week 2 game against the Steelers.
Forsett piled up 84 yards and a TD on 16 touches against the Bengals after Bernard Pierce was benched for losing a fumble. He showed some burst and elusiveness and has a history with OC Gary Kubiak. With Ray Rice out for at least another week, Forsett appears to be in the driver's seat in the Baltimore backfield.

Coach Gus Bradley said Toby Gerhart has a sprained ankle and will be limited in practice this week.
Gerhart owners got a scare early in the Jaguars' Week 1 loss to the Eagles when he was dragged down from behind by DE Fletcher Cox. Expect plenty of updates on Gerhart this week, but he should be fine as an RB2 for the Week 2 tilt with the Redskins.

ESPN Ravens reporter Jamison Hensley stated on SportsCenter Monday that Justin Forsett "looks to be the starter" in Baltimore's backfield entering Week 2 against the Steelers.
Ray Rice has been released and suspended indefinitely, while Bernard Pierce was benched in Sunday's loss to Cincinnati. The fact that the Ravens were so quick to bench Pierce for his first-career fumble suggests they have internal questions about his performance, unrelated to the loose ball. It's conceivable they'll give rookie Lorenzo Taliaferro a longer look in their second game.

ESPN Ravens reporter Jamison Hensley still expects Bernard Pierce to lead the team in carries this season.
Despite his Week 1 benching, coach John Harbaugh said Pierce remains a big part of the plans at running back. "You don’t lose faith in a player because of a bad play," Harbaugh said. "Bernard is still on his way to becoming, I would say, a very good player." While Justin Forsett may get the start Thursday night against the Steelers, the Ravens know the undersized scatback can't carry a full load.

Robert Griffin III told the media Wednesday that Jordan Reed (hamstring) will not play Week 2 against the Jaguars.
As expected. "He's a big loss, a great player," RGIII said. Reed's status beyond Week 2 remains up in the air. Coach Jay Gruden said Monday that Reed would be sidelined "some time." Logan Paulsen will be called on to block in Week 2, while Niles Paul is expected to play a bigger role in the passing game

                I'd take Forsett over Pierce

Coach Mike Pettine confirmed Terrance West will get the start at running back Week 2 against the Saints.
Ben Tate is week-to-week with a sprained knee. West rushed for 100 yards on 16 carries in the Browns' Week 1 loss to the Steelers as the clear lead back after Tate exited. He'll get to face a Saints defense that finished 19th against the run in 2013 and surrendered 123 yards on the ground against the Falcons in Week 1.

Coach Mike Pettine said Jordan Cameron (shoulder) is day-to-day.
Pettine said Cameron "took a pretty good shot" on his shoulder against the Steelers. He aggravated the AC joint injury he suffered in training camp. The Browns don't believe it's a chronic issue, but Cameron should be considered questionable for Week 2 against the Saints.

According to the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel, "it appears" Eddie Lacy (concussion) will play Sunday against the Jets.
Lacy is in the final stages of the NFL's concussion protocol, with the only hurdle left being clearance from an independent neurologist. "He's had good workouts," said coach Mike McCarthy. "He's progressed very quickly."

Toby Gerhart (ankle) confirmed he expects to play in Sunday's game against the Redskins.
Gerhart thought he suffered a severe injury when Fletcher Cox tackled him from behind in Week 1, but he escaped with a sprain. He's going to get some work in during Thursday's practice, a great sign that he'll be ready to rock Sunday

Re: Fantasy Football Talk. Week 2.

ESPN's Adam Schefter reports Josh Gordon's suspension is expected to be reduced to eight games once the new drug policy is approved as easily as Friday afternoon.
It's exactly what FOX Sports' Mike Garafolo reported Thursday evening. We'd obviously expect Gordon to qualify for time already served, so he'd likely be back for Week 9 against the Bucs. Owners who can afford to stash Gordon at the end of their bench would have him in time for a few weeks of the regular season and the fantasy playoffs.
