I have a lot of stuff to post & hope to have it all posted by Saturday. I'm going to get started with the initial line movement & why it moved all the way to Philly -2(-2'). I'm not a book so these are assumptions (always deadly).
The Eagles played the early CC game & before the Chiefs even kicked off, we had one team (Philly) off back-to-back home games in which they won both by more than 21pts s/u.
So-o-o...before the AFC CC game, there were bettors that already knew they were going to jump on Philly.
Why?
Because experienced cappers who have been doing this for decades were sitting in the Vegas casino books, armed with all of their historical information, knowing this before the Chiefs even played:
SB teams off back-to-back s/u wins by 21+ points each are 4-0 s/u in the SB.
'78 Steelers won s/u & ats
'85 Bears won s/u & ats
'88 49'ers won s/u but lost ats
'89 49'ers won s/u & ats
'22 Eagles???
So when the lined opened up at +1/=/-1, they jumped on Philly, moving the line all the way to -2' at some shops.
But there's more. Even without that knowledge but armed with something different, some cappers knew this after the Chiefs won, pitting the #1-passing D' vs the #1-passing D' in the SB.
This has happened only twice before in SB history:
'02...#1-pass D' Bucs blasted the #1-pass O' Raiders...48-21
'13...#1-pass D' Seahawks blasted the #1-pass O' Broncos...43-8
'22...#1-pass D' Eagles ??? #1-pass O' Chiefs
If you happened to watch ESPN & the NFL network early that Sunday night, shortly after Chiefs game ended, you would have seen both those stats.
And that was when that line moved so much on Philly.
(Once again: assumptions, but sounds about right)
So-o-o... there are 6 SB's that provide d*mn good reasons to jump on Philly.
But why did the line move back in favor of KC?
That's coming up next.
