James Robinson suffered an ankle injury in Week 15 against the Ravens.
Robinson was listed as questionable to return but did not make it back onto the field in the fourth quarter. He came into the game with a knee issue that had limited him at practice for most of last week. If the ankle injury keeps Robinson out for Week 16, Dare Ogunbowale would likely serve as the Jaguars' primary ball carrier against the Bears.

NFL Network's Ian Rapoport said Clyde Edwards-Helaire (hip/leg) will likely miss the regular season's final two weeks.
The rookie is getting an MRI Monday after X-rays Sunday night were negative. Edwards-Helaire was bent awkwardly on a fourth quarter tackle against the Saints and was helped to the locker room without putting weight on his injured leg. Le'Veon Bell, who led the team in rushing attempts in Week 15 against the Saints, will be the primary ball carrier for KC in Week 16 against the Falcons.

Bills coach Sean McDermott said early reports on Stefon Diggs (ankle) "don't seem very worrisome."
Even so, McDermott added that he wants to see Diggs on the practice field Wednesday before jumping to any conclusions. The Bills are still in the thick of the AFC playoff hunt, potentially leaping the Steelers for the No. 2 seed with back-to-back wins and a Pittsburgh loss over the last two games, but Diggs' health ahead of the postseason takes priority.

Coach Sean McVay said Cam Akers will miss at least Week 16 against the Seahawks with a high-ankle sprain.
McVay stressed "at least" Week 16, so it's probably a good bet Akers is done for the regular season.

C.J. Beathard will be the 49ers' Week 16 starter at quarterback.
Nick Mullens needs elbow surgery, Jimmy Garoppolo (ankle) will practice but not play, and Josh Johnson is on the COVID-19 list.

49ers coach Kyle Shanahan believes George Kittle (foot) has a "chance" to return for Saturday's game against the Cardinals.
“If he’s good, I plan on him playing,” Shanahan said Tuesday.

49ers placed RB Raheem Mostert on injured reserve with a left high-ankle sprain, ending his season.

The Lions will conduct meetings remotely Tuesday after two positive COVID-19 tests.
This makes a short week even shorter for the struggling Lions. They play the Bucs on Saturday as their disastrous season comes to a merciful close.

NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reports Lions interim coach Darrell Bevell won't be available in Week 16 against the Buccaneers.
Bevell was deemed a high-risk close contact of someone who tested positive and thus won't be able to coach in Saturday's game. That responsibility will instead fall to WR coach Robert Prince with QB coach Sean Ryan calling offensive plays. It's still undetermined what the team will do as a backup plan for its defensive play-calling. It's obviously another disaster for the Lions, who will again be without Kenny Golladay (hip) as 10-point home dogs this weekend.

Tyler Boyd (concussion) did not practice on Wednesday.
Do not expect Boyd to play this week after leaving the game against the Steelers with a head injury after just one target.

Derek Carr (groin) practiced fully Wednesday.
That's an upgrade from his limited Tuesday practice. It would now be an upset if Carr did not suit up Saturday against the Dolphins.

Derek Carr (groin) was left off the Raiders' final Week 16 injury report against the Dolphins.
In other words, he will be starting Saturday evening.

Ezekiel Elliott (calf) remained "limited" on Thursday.
All signs have pointed toward Elliott returning after missing Week 15. With the Cowboys' season drain-circled and Elliott at less than 100 percent health, we would expect his snaps to be rationed.

49ers activated TE George Kittle (foot) from injured reserve.
Coach Kyle Shanahan has confirmed Kittle will suit up against the Cardinals on Saturday, but that he will be on "somewhat of a pitch count."

Aaron Jones (toe) remained "limited" in Thursday's practice, but said he's "ready to go" for Week 16 against the Titans.
Jones said he was "feeling good" after Thursday's session.

Deebo Samuel (hamstring) is out for Week 16 against the Cardinals.
Samuel has not played since Week 13. With Samuel failing to practice this week and the 49ers eliminated from playoff contention, there would seem to be little chance Samuel returns for next week's finale.

Chargers placed TE Hunter Henry on the reserve/COVID-19 list.
Henry will miss Sunday's game against the Broncos. Henry had not been practicing with an "illness," so he is presumably COVID positive himself, and not merely a close contact. That would leave him doubtful to return for Week 17.

Terry McLaurin (ankle) is doubtful for Week 16 against the Panthers.

Allen Robinson (hamstring) is questionable for Week 16 against the Jaguars.
Robinson was held out Thursday but returned to a limited practice Friday.

Julio Jones (hamstring) has been ruled out for Week 16 against the Chiefs.
Jones will miss his third straight game after not practicing all week.
