  • NFL Player News and Weather Week 10.

Panthers coach Matt Rhule said Christian McCaffrey (shoulder) is "day-to-day."
It's a far cry from Rapsheet's report that McCaffrey's status is "very much in doubt" for Week 10. Whatever the case, we'll all know more on Wednesday when the team gets back McCaffrey's latest MRI results.

Steelers had a player test positive for COVID-19 on Monday.
This announcement comes 48 hours after a staff member tested positive and only 24 hours after the team played the Cowboys. The Steelers will immediately enter intensive protocol and eventually rule out a handful of players for close-contact ahead of its Week 10 game against the Bengals.

Re: NFL Player News and Weather Week 10.

Ben Roethlisberger on Sunday's plane ride home from Dallas sat next to Vance McDonald, who has since tested positive for COVID-19.
Roethlisberger's locker is next to McDonald's too. McDonald played in Sunday's win over Dallas before testing positive for COVID-19 on Monday. The Steelers QB will self isolate for the next five days. Unless he tests positive for the virus during the period, Roethlisberger should be able to come off the reserve/COVID-19 list Saturday, just in time for Sunday's game against the Bengals.

Christian McCaffrey (shoulder) won't practice Wednesday.
Panthers coach Matt Rhule called McCaffrey day to day earlier this week. Opening the week with a missed practice raises concern on McCaffrey after reports his Week 10 status is "very much in doubt."

I'll throw this in here cause JD is busy this week, lol, to say the least. From thefootballguys site

            1. JAX - Laviska Shenault to miss Week 10

            Source: Around The NFL
Jacksonville Jaguars WR Laviska Shenault Jr. (hamstring) on Friday, Nov. 13, was ruled out of the team's Week 10 game Sunday against the Green Bay Packers.
            [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
Chris Conley will get more targets with Shenault out if last week's distribution of passes is any indication, although high winds in Green Bay could lower his ceiling.

            2. LAC - RB Justin Jackson out Week 10
            Source: ESPN - Adam Schefter
Los Angeles Chargers RB Justin Jackson (knee) on Friday, Nov. 13, was ruled out of the team's Week 10 game Sunday against the Miami Dolphins.
            [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
Kalen Ballage, Troymaine Pope (maybe), and Joshua Kelley will split the work, so they are all desperation plays with upside unless we get more clarity about how the workload will be split up.

            3. PHI - RB Miles Sanders raring to go
Source: Philadelphia Inquirer - Les Bowen
Philadelphia Eagles RB Miles Sanders (knee) said Friday, Nov. 13, that he's 'absolutely' ready to return and play a full game Sunday against the New York Giants.
            [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
Sanders is a back to being a high ceiling RB1 and should be in lineups everywhere.

            4. BAL - RB Mark Ingram practices Friday
Source: The Athletic - Jeff Zrebiec
Baltimore Ravens RB Mark Ingram (ankle) returned to practice Friday, Nov. 13, according to head coach John Harbaugh, after sitting out the previous day.
            [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
Ingram will be a what the heck flex against the tired Patriots run defense, but hurt the value of J.K. Dobbins and Gus Edwards this week.

            5. CAR - RB Christian McCaffrey ruled out
            Source: ESPN - Adam Schefter
Carolina Panthers RB Christian McCaffrey (shoulder) on Friday, Nov. 13, was ruled out of the team's Week 10 game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
            [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
McCaffrey has a chance to play next week. Wednesday's practice should be a good indicator of where he is at. Mike Davis is a PPR Special RB2 against the brick wall Bucs run defense this week.

            6. GB - Allen Lazard a game-time decision?
            Source: ESPN.com - Rob Demovsky
Green Bay Packers WR Allen Lazard (core), who has yet to be activated from the Reserve/Injured list, is expected to be a game-time decision for Week 10 versus the Jacksonville Jaguars, according to head coach Matt LaFleur.
            [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
If Lazard is out Marquez Valdes-Scantling becomes a better play, but the deep passing game could be quiet if the forecasted winds in Green Bay on Sunday live up to billing.

            7. CIN - RB Joe Mixon unlikely to go in Week 10
Source: The Athletic - Paul Dehner Jr.
Cincinnati Bengals RB Joe Mixon (foot) will be listed as doubtful for Week 10 against the Pittsburgh Steelers, according to head coach Zac Taylor.
            [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
Giovani Bernard should get another start and he'll be considered a fantasy RB2 against the Steelers, with more upside in PPR leagues.

            [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
Fingers crossed here for Roethlisberger and the Steelers.

            Source: Patriots.com
New England Patriots RB Damien Harris (ankle, chest) was limited during practice Friday, Nov. 13, and is listed as questionable for Week 10.
            [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
Harris isn't a good play this weekend against the Ravens, but if he can't go Sunday night, Rex Burkhead will move up an RB2 level play.

            10. MIA - Miami's Week 10 injury report
            Source: MiamiDolphins.com
Miami Dolphins RB Matt Breida (hamstring) was limited in practice all week and is listed as questionable for Week 10 versus the Los Angeles Chargers. CB Jamal Perry (foot) and TE Durham Smythe (concussion) practiced in full Friday, Nov. 13, and are also listed as questionable. S Kavon Frazier (shoulder), CB Byron Jones (Achilles), RB Patrick Laird (ankle), DE Shaq Lawson (shoulder) and TE Adam Shaheen (shoulder) practiced in full all week and have been removed from the injury report. DT Raekwon Davis (non-injury) was not given a practice designation Friday after missing practice one day earlier but is expected to be available.
            [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
Breida will be a game time decision, but even if he does play, he's no sure thing to finish the game. There's no Dolphins back worth trusting against the Chargers.

San Francisco 49ers WR Kendrick Bourne is expected to be activated from the Reserve/COVID-19 list Friday, Nov. 13, and he's eligible to play in Week 10.
            [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
This takes some of the edge off of Richie James opportunity this week against the Saints, but helps Nick Mullens as a desperation play.

            12. DEN - Coach: Jerry Jeudy should play

Denver Broncos WR Jerry Jeudy (shoulder) has the confidence of head coach Vic Fangio as it pertains to playing Sunday, Nov. 15, in Week 10, Fangio said Friday.
            [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
Jeudy is coming off of his breakout game and should be the focal point of the Broncos pass offense. He's a high ceiling WR3/Flex this week.

            13. GB - TE Robert Tonyan misses practice
Source: Milwaukee Journal Sentinel - Olivia Reiner
Green Bay Packers TE Robert Tonyan (ankle) did not participate in practice Friday, Nov. 13.
            [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
Missing your first day of practice on a Friday is usually a bad sign for a player's availability on Sunday. Tonyan is a very dicey play this week and might be inactive.

Chicago Bears NT John Jenkins (ankle), TE Cole Kmet (groin), S Sherrick McManis (hand), RB David Montgomery (concussion), OL Sam Mustipher (knee), OL Jason Spriggs (knee) and QB Mitchell Trubisky (shoulder) did not practice for a second straight day Friday, Nov. 13. S Tashaun Gipson (foot), LB Barkevious Mingo (shoulder), WR Allen Robinson (knee) and LB Roquan Smith (back) were limited for a second straight day. TE Jimmy Graham (rest), DT Akiem Hicks (rest), LB Danny Trevathan (rest), DT Brent Urban (shin, thumb) and LB Josh Woods (ankle, calf) practiced in full.
            [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
Montgomery needs to get back to practice tomorrow to have a good chance to play Monday night. Cordarrelle Patterson and Ryan Nall are the backups, but Lamar Miller could also get called up from the practice squad. The Bears running game is still no place to look for fantasy overachievers no matter who starts.

            Source: Giants.com
New York Giants RB Devonta Freeman (ankle) did not practice Friday, Nov. 13, and has been ruled out for Week 10 against the Philadelphia Eagles. WR Golden Tate (knee) was limited in practice all week and is listed as questionable. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
Tate seems to be on the outs with the team and might be inactive again this week, which would help Austin Mack's status as a deep sleeper after his strong play last week.

WR Larry Fitzgerald (non-injury), WR DeAndre Hopkins (non-injury), DT Corey Peters (non-injury), OL Lamont Gaillard (illness) and QB Chris Streveler (illness) practiced in full Friday and no longer appear on the injury report.
            [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Both will be game time decisions. We don't have any clarity about this backfield and the only worthy play will be Carson if he is active, but he will carry a lot of risk too.

Los Angeles promoted Kalen Ballage from the practice squad in a corresponding move.

GB = just above freezing, raining, and very windy 25 mph
CLE = rain and wind 23mph
PIT = good football weather right now but 20+mph by kickoff with spotty rain

I live in PIT and just got a major WIND ALERT on my phone

i checked windfinder and they're calling for steady 20's wind with gusts into mid-50's! when game starts it will still have steady 20's gusting to 40's ... the Fox Chapel station is closest of the windfinder options... check out this afternoon's forecast

Not that it matters for football.
I just got the same alert in Michigan.
Power is out 1 mile from us.

NFL Network's Tom Pelissero reports D'Andre Swift will start for Detroit in Week 10 against Washington.
Pelissero noted that Detroit has used a mixed backfield to this point but stated Swift "leads the way today." That doesn't guarantee that Adrian Peterson is an afterthought in this offense but it does sound like Swift will be in for a larger role than usual.
