      I like the language as simple as possible lol Here is the 3rd one you posted a little less to type in the SDQL bar

        Trimmed a little fat off that one by throwing away teams that were at least 7 pt favorites.

          Put this with your stuff Paul because someone will inevitably ask.

          Last years SB loser in week 1

          R(L@team and season and week > 20 and playoffs = 1)[team and season -1 and week > 20 and playoffs = 1] = 1 and week = 1

          Last years SB winner in week 1

          R(W@team and season and week > 20 and playoffs = 1)[team and season -1 and week > 20 and playoffs = 1] = 1 and week = 1

            Here's a look at Thursday night games (thanksgiving day games out) if anyone wants to work some angles on those. I lose the night game on thanksgiving with this query, not sure how to add it in. Maybe the fabulous Gambrinus will see this and give it a shot, if it can be done he's the guy

            day=Thursday and season>=2002 and H and not 1122<=int(str(date)[4:])<=1128

              Re: NFL SDQL - Week #1

              my list....explanations are simplified but explain the general parameters

              week 1 specifics:

              • totals:
                • OVER home fav 7+ with total 46+ (16-1-1 o/u = KC/HOU over + BAL/CLE over + SF/ARI over)
                • UNDER road teams that won at least 4 of 5 games of the previous season vs opp did not finish with >=2 more wins (12-38 o/u = PHI/WAS under, GB/MIN under)
                • UNDER Divisional home with revenge and total <=48 (16-36 o/u = MIN under, NE under, DET under, BUF under)
                • UNDER away fav nondiv total 45+ (7-21 o/u = DAL under, LV under, SEA under, PIT under)

                sides:
                • OPPOSE away dog >.500 LY vs good opponent from LY that last beat them by 4+ (2-23-2 ATS = play on KC)
                • PLAY ON teams that had terrible year in turnover margin vs teams that had excellent year in turnover margin (42-15 ATS = play on Miami)
                • PLAY ON Divisional small dogs or favs that have lost 2 straight vs opponent (19-5 ATS = play on Arizona, on Minnesota)
                • PLAY ON Divisional home favs of 2+ that were good LY vs opponent that was >.500 (24-5-1 ATS = play on Minnesota)
                • PLAY ON NDIV dogs that won 4-5 games LY and had equal or less wins than week 1 opponent (30-9 ATS = play on CARO, play on NYG)
                • PLAY ON dogs of 8+ that won 4-7 games LY (29-9 ATS = play on JAX, play on CLE)
                • PLAY ON away dog of <7 that won 6 or less games LY (47-13-5 ATS = play on Miami)
                • OPPOSE away dog that won 9+ LY if opponent didn't win 10+ (12-36-3 ATS = play on Denver)
                • OPPOSE closely-lined away team when both teams won 7+ LY (27-55-5 ATS = play on Minnesota, on New Orleans, on Denver)
                • Week 1 MNF NFC home dogs are 10-1 ATS with 9 SU wins (active nyg/pit. steelers in 2016 only away team to win and cover when they beat wash)
                • Teams winless in division games LY are 48-16-1 facing a DIV team that didn't go 6-0LY (W1 on Wash & Detroit) ... note: NFC teams in this situation are 35-9 ATS with 28 SU wins with average of +4.5 dog
                • Week 1 Div favs are 5-24-1 ATS last 7 years (on GB, on TB, on WAS, on CLE, on MIA, on CHI, on JAX, on ARI, on NYJ) note: AFC is 1-12-1 ATS here with only 6 SU wins

                other fits:
                • week 1-4 13+ wins LY not fav by 6+ playing DIV game vs opponent that didn't win 14+ (2-25 ATS. Play on Tampa, on Minnesota)
                • week 1-2 play on team with 12+ turnover h2h differential disadvantage from last year (41-10 ATS = play on Tampa, on Miami)

                Thank you tide, some good stuff in that post for sure

                tide was just looking at your other fits and this one doesn't pan out for me as a query:

                week 1-4 13+ wins LY not fav by 6+ playing DIV game vs opponent that didn't win 14+ (2-25 ATS. Play on Tampa, on Minnesota)

                1<=week<=4 and line>-6 and DIV and PRSW>=13 and o:PRSW<14

                https://sportsdatabase.com/nfl/query...+S+D+Q+L+%21++

                this comes out at 8-27 and also comes up with the two games you mention

                Can you see if I did something wrong there or do you have a query for that or was it just a trend

                  these are all queries I've created through the years. There's more to that one specifically but I can't post all the URLs for people like GC to then resell to clients

                  but, yes, you've got the parameters correct but there's a little more to it to get to 2-25

                      I don't run the SDQL because of lack of knowledge, but am hopeful someone can verify this from Ralph Michaels:

                      Since 2014 in week 1 divisional underdogs are 21-5-1 ATS. In the hopes that some runs this thank you in advance.

                          SDQL spits out 20-4-1 ATS

                          Use only dogs of 6 or less and it is 16-1-1 ATS

                            Thank you both. Looks like there could be up to 9 plays this week.
                            I am curious why the Eagles/Washington didn't show up?

                              Maybe JJ knows whats going on here when I click through his link the query shows up like this this at killersports

                              week=1 and season>=2014 and DIV=True and D and line<6.5 which gives 3 plays and yes no Redskin play

                              If I take out the true it gives me two links true and false, week=1 and season>=2014 and DIV and D and line<6.5

                              If I click on the false link it takes me here with DIV and NDIV games and 7 plays for week 1 which includes Washington, week=1 and season>=2014 and DIV=False and D and line<6.5

                              Now if I take this query, week=1 and season>=2014 and DIV and D and line<6.5, to sportsdatabase.com it gives me the right results with Washington in there, it also has the correct ATS record of 16-2-1, here's the link:

                              I think what were seeing here is maybe the introduction of the sdql3 that they been talking about. Given this development I think the thing to do for now is use this site:
