  • Fantasy Football Discussion And Info. Week 16.

Patriots signed RB Steven Jackson to a one-year contract.
New England needs an early-down pounder, and with two weeks left in the season and the No. 1 seed close to locked up, Jackson should have plenty of time to ingrain himself in the offense before the games start to matter in January.

ESPN's Josina Anderson reports Adrian Peterson (ankle) will play Week 16 against the Giants.
A source told Anderson, "He'll be ready to go on Sunday!" Peterson sprained his ankle in the second quarter of Sunday's win, but he returned to the game in the second half. He might miss some practice time this week, but Peterson should play in a good matchup.

Panthers coach Ron Rivera confirmed he will play his starters Week 16 against the Falcons.
The Panthers still need a win or the Cardinals to lose to lock up the No. 1 seed, and Rivera has seen first hand how resting players too early in the regular season can backfire.

ESPN Seahawks reporter Sheil Kapadia believes the team will continue to use Christine Michael and Bryce Brown in a running back committee.
Derrick Coleman got the start last week but did not see a carry after the first quarter, and Fred Jackson is just a third-down option. That leaves Michael and Brown to carry the load. Michael took control of the committee against Cleveland and dominated the work in the second half, but Brown could certainly emerge with the hot hand next week against the Rams.

ESPN's Adam Schefter reports LeSean McCoy has been diagnosed with a torn MCL, and is week to week.
Per Schefter, there's still "more testing" scheduled for Monday. NFL.com's Ian Rapoport claims Shady could be back for Week 17, but it's hard to see that happening with the Bills' season already lost. McCoy's first year in Buffalo is likely through.

The appeal of Odell Beckham's one-game suspension is expected to be heard "by Wednesday."
The NFL has a history of taking its sweet time to hear suspension appeals in the offseason, but they tend to expedite suspensions handed down in-season. We'd be very surprised if Beckham's Week 16 availability or lack thereof wasn't confirmed in the next 48 hours

Chargers placed RB Melvin Gordon on injured reserve with cartilage damage in his knee, ending his season.

Marcus Mariota has been officially diagnosed with a sprained right MCL, and will miss Weeks 16 and 17.

Ravens coach John Harbaugh said there is "no way" Buck Allen will be "banished" after fumbling Week 15 against Kansas City.
Allen was benched against the Chiefs, but Harbaugh said that will not carry over. "At running back, the best players don’t fumble," Harbaugh said. "Fumbling – it is what it is. You have to hold onto the football. He knows that. I have a lot of love and respect for Buck. No way is Buck going to be banished, by any stretch."

Andrew Luck (kidney) has been ruled out for Week 16.
Asked about Luck's going-forward availability on Monday, coach Chuck Pagano replied, "I have zilch." Pagano also described Matt Hasselbeck (body, old) as "beat up from the feet up." With the Colts' season having already circled the drain, perhaps they'll give Charlie Whitehurst the Week 16 start.

NFL Network's Rand Getlin reports Tyler Eifert (concussion) will not play Week 16 against the Broncos, and it's "possible" he doesn't play again until the playoffs.

Coach Mike Zimmer said Adrian Peterson (ankle) "should be good to go" for Sunday night's Week 16 game against the Giants.

The Broncos confirmed Brock Osweiler as their starting quarterback for Week 16 against the Bengals.
Peyton Manning (foot) will not be active. It's believed by many that Manning is healed from his torn plantar fascia, but the Broncos aren't going to humiliate the future Hall of Famer by dressing him and standing him on the sideline behind Osweiler.

T.J. Yeldon (knee) remains in a brace with a sprained MCL.
He's not going to practice Wednesday and seems unlikely to play Week 16 against the Saints.

Denard Robinson (foot) said he expects to play Week 16 against the Saints.

The NFL upheld Odell Beckham's one-game suspension.
Beckham will miss Week 16 against Minnesota. It's a huge break for the Vikings in a game with playoff implications.

NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reports Drew Brees (foot) is in "horrible, miserable pain," but is "intent on playing" in Week 16 against Jacksonville.
Brees is dealing with a torn plantar fascia sustained during Monday night's loss to the Lions. His Week 16 status is in major doubt.

CBS Sports' Jason La Canfora reports Brian Hoyer (concussion) is not expected to play Week 16 against the Titans.
La Canfora said Hoyer is "making good progress" and is on track to return Week 17. Brandon Weeden will start in Hoyer's place

Doug Baldwin (hamstring, questionable) was a full participant in Friday's practice.
Coach Pete Carroll has said Baldwin will be a game-time decision, but the full session suggests he will play.

The Patriots ruled out Danny Amendola (knee) and Julian Edelman (foot) for Week 16.

NFL Network's Rand Getlin reports Marques Colston (questionable, chest) isn't expected to play Sunday against Jacksonville.
The Saints promoted Seantavius Jones from the practice squad Thursday, suggesting Colston would be held out. With Ben Watson (knee) questionable, Willie Snead and Brandin Cooks are in line for bigger roles.

Dez Bryant (foot, ankle) has been ruled out for Week 16.
The Cowboys downgraded Bryant after he didn't make the trip to Buffalo. There's rumors he could be shut down for the season.

ESPN's Adam Schefter reports Ben Watson (knee) will play Sunday against the Jaguars.
It's a mild surprise after Watson missed practice all week.

ESPN's Adam Schefter reports Andre Ellington (toe) is expected to play Sunday against the Packers.

ESPN's Adam Schefter reports Brian Hoyer (concussion) is out for Week 16 against the Titans.
Brandon Weeden will get the start with B.J. Daniels as his backup.

NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reports Steven Jackson will be active Sunday against the Jets.
He'll probably be eased in this week but eventually Jackson will assume the LeGarrette Blount role as New England's early-down thumper.

ESPN's Adam Schefter reports Brandon LaFell (foot) is expected to play Sunday against the Jets.

Scott Chandler (knee) is expected to play Sunday against the Jets.

ESPN's Adam Schefter confirmed Drew Brees (foot) will play Sunday against the Jaguars.
He's dealing with a torn plantar fascia, the same injury that has sidelined Peyton Manning for the last month and a half.
