The touts are unhappy with the Vols because they blew a 25 point lead, and had to go overtime to beat Iowa. Granted, they are not a great team, but they are a very good team. Good enough to build that 25 point lead, and good enough to dominate the overtime when it looked as if they were going to choke.
Face it......they built an enormous lead and thought they had the game won. They fell asleep in the 2nd half and got sloppy. That won't happen against Purdue.
Purdue got here by roughing up the defending national champions, Villanova.....but so did Furman during the season. Big deal! It was a down year for Nova with four of their anticipated starters deciding to forego and move right to the NBA.
Meanwhile, Carsen Edwards had a game for the ages on Saturday with 42 points on 12-21 from the field.
Spoiler alert.....he could easily go 4-21 in this game. That's the history of Purdue basketball. Nobody (except maybe Virginia) comes up lamer than the Boils in big NCAA games. Usually they are taken out by some mid-major or mediocre Big 5 conference school.
Tennessee is not mediocre. I think they win here and move on.
