    On Today's Scorecard
    Report Cards
After grading every team's draft class – remember, none of these players have played a single down of professional football - DraftWire.com graded every team's seven-round haul, complete with analysis on each team, including the biggest reach and biggest steal. Here are a few samples –

    • "Grade A" marks went to Baltimore, Kansas City, NY Jets, Pittsburgh, and Tennessee.

    • The only Grade D mark went to New England, and it was a D- at that.

    • Biggest steals included: Kyle Hamilton (Baltimore 14th pick), Nakobe Dean, (Philadelphia 3rd round), Devin Lloyd, (Jacksonville 27th pick), Perrion Winfrey, Cleveland Round 4), Malik Willis, Tennessee 3rd round), Desmond Ridder, Atlanta Round 3), and Sam Howell, (Washington 5th round).

    • Biggest reaches were: Arizona trading for Marquise Brown, Buffalo (James Cook, 2nd round), Cleveland (Cade York, 4th round), Washington (Johan Dotson 1st round), and New England (take your pick).

    SEC Bound And Down
The SEC, led by defending national champion Georgia, paved the way in this year's NFL Draft with 65 players drafted - with Vanderbilt the only SEC school not to have a player selected. They were followed by the Big Ten with 48 players, with 25 each from the Big 12 and the PAC-12. The ACC was next in line with 20 players drafted and the AAC with 19 players – including 9 Cincinnati Bearcats.

The Bama Hammer reports that one SEC school owns the biggest embarrassment, not just among SEC schools but across the FBS division. That distinction belongs to the Auburn Tigers. How badly did Auburn fail in the 2022 NFL Draft?

The Tigers had one player drafted; Roger McCrearywas chosen in the second round at No. 35. Putting that meager output into perspective, the FCS Montana State Bobcats had two players drafted. Adding insult to the Auburn Tigers is that two FCS players were drafted higher than McCreary. Among FBS programs, 44 teams had more players drafted than Auburn. So did 13, Group of Five teams.

    Shame on you, Auburn.
    Grinding Out The Profits
    Cautionary Warning
In the first 34 years the NHL has handed out the President's Trophy to the team with the best regular-season record, with only eight recipients having gone on to win the Stanley Cup - and none since 2013.

In the last 20 years, more Presidents' Trophy winners have lost in the first round— five — than won the Cup.

That's not promising news for the upstart Florida Panthers, who this season locked up the President's Trophy for the first time in franchise history.
