ESPN's Recruiting Nation's Class Rankings are always evolving.

Alabama has surged on the recruiting trail this summer. The Crimson Tide sat just inside the top 25 of the class rankings at the start of June with six commits. Two months later, they have ascended to the No. 1 spot. Pushing them past Ohio State was the addition of two ESPN 300 commits, bringing their total to 16. They added a third 4-star defensive linemen to their class in Monkell Goodwine, a big man with good initial quickness and a high motor.

Ohio State, which had sat in the top spot for this entire cycle, now moves to No. 2, but the race for the No. 1 class is a competitive one.

Florida's top-10 class was not the only one to boost its ranking with a pickup out of Miami Palmetto, as the Hurricanes landed five-star DT Leonard Taylor out of that high school.
