    On Today's Scorecard
    MLB Power Rankings
ESPN's first MLB Power Rankings of the year are out and to know one's surprise the L.A. Dodgers hold down the top spot.

They predict the Blue ballers will win 110 games and score 1,00 runs – and win the World Series in five games over the Tampa Bay Rays.

In the No. 2 slot is the best team in the American League – The Toronto Blue Jays. Super star Vlad Guerrero Jr. said, "Last year was the trailer. What you are going to see this year is the movie."

Surprisingly, they predict he'll win the Triple Crown, yet lost the MVP to Shohei Ohtanionce again.

    You Play We Pay
According to ESPN, NBA commissioner Adam Silversaid Wednesday that while there was no specific discussion of the impending arbitration between Ben Simmons and the Philadelphia 76ers, he said his bigger concern moving forward is "a trend of star players not participating in a full complement of games," and hopes the league and the National Basketball Players Association can address it.

Simmons requested a trade from the Sixers and hasn't played this season. He is ruled out the rest of the season as well as the Play-In Tournament. He is said to be suffering for mental fatigue - aren't we all - as well as a herniated disc in his back. He will have played in 105 of 246 regular season games – none this season - over the last three years. And for that he will have earned $100M. Give me a freakin' break.

Tell me what's not right here? The answer to the whole issue involving star players miss game is really simple. Pay them for the games in which they actually play. Tear up the contract an implement "pay for play" contracts with performance incentives. Then everyone wins.

The Cavaliers and the Nets meet in Brooklyn tonight with the winner of tonight's contest holding the tie-breaker between the 7th and 8th seed in the Eastern Conference playoff race.

According to Victor King's NBA Day to Day Trends in the PLAYBOOK NBA Newsletter these two teams may not be able to slow one another down as the Cavs are 5-0 OVER in their last 5 as non-division road dogs, as well as 5-1 OVER the last 6 games in this series. On the opposite side of the court, the Nets are 6-1 OVER after facing the Knicks, and 9-3 OVER in one-day rest versus two-day rest situations.

Nix the side here. The OVER looks like clover.
