North Carolina and Duke, the greatest rivals in the sport of college basketball and perhaps any other, have never played in the NCAA tournament. It will happen Saturday in New Orleans. Coach Mike Krzyzewskiwill coach for his sixth national championship or lose to his sworn enemy and never grace the sideline again. The game is days away but already historic. As ladders were set up under the baskets in preparation of North Carolina's 21st Final Four visit, Tar Heel fans chanted: "We want Duke! We want Duke!" To that we say be careful what you wish for. Duke is 17-3 in its last 20 games, with one of the losses a stunning home blowout loss to UNC in Coach K's final game at Cameron Arena. Meanwhile Kansas outscored Miami, 47-15, in the second half to erase a halftime deficit to earn its 16th Final Four bid. And thanks to acing all 15 of its free throws, Villanova overcame a wobbly 25% FG shooting effort as it was aided in a big way when Houston – who lead the NCAA tourney in 3-point shooting – managed a meager 1-for-20 from outside the arc.
