Back in '67 or '68 I was shopping for Christmas on a Saturday afternoon with a girlfriend in a little boutique in the East Village (NYC). Who comes in there with us? Yep, Janis Joplin. She was with a little guy who had a spot role in Bonnie and Clyde, Michael Pollard. Sure enough she had a brown bag with an open half pint, undoubtedly her favorite, Southern Comfort. Just a little useless slice from my life!
