          Baseball Betting Report
          Sportspic.com

Six weeks into a long baseball season a couple of interesting trends have developed that should interest those focused on baseball betting.

Milwaukee Brewers suffering through a 5-7 stretch head into the new week tied with San Francisco Giants as top teams in the Majors. Brewers platting 4.03 runs/game sit at 24-14 (+$1048) split between 12-9 (+$59) at Miller Park, 12-5 (+$989) when traveling. The Giants crossing 4.18 per contest are also 24-14 (+$1053) with a smart 10-5 (+$348) stretch at home, 14-9 (+$705) record on the road. Oakland completing a 4-2 week are keeping pace at 23-15 (+$367). At the other extreme, Houston (12-26, -$729), Cubs (12-24, -$1011), Arizona (15-25, -$1013) continue to search for solutions.

Players that have wagered on home favorites haven't faired well. They are 226-189 overall with betting accounts depleted to the tune of -$3004. A deadly spot for home faves is the -$1.50 to -$1.70 range as teams are 41-37 dropping -$1878 at the betting window. Interesting that big chalks of -$2.00 or more are 16-2 stuffing +$1137 into betting accounts.

Breaking numbers down by individual team. Colorado Rockies have been solid choices as home fave going 12-5 (+$553) with Tampa Bay (8-12, -$938), Dodgers (6-9, -$808), Arizona (3-8, -$712) fade material when home favorite.

Looking at home dogs, they've had little bite going 60-84 costing backers -$1190. No surprise D-Backs (-$700), Astros (-$349) are worst in the roll of home dog. What does catch the attention, Miami is 7-2 at Marlins Park as an underdog treating backers with a profitable +$601. However, dressed them up as road dog they're all bark no bite (3-10, -$613).

          Other noteworthy betting trends:

          Best 'Over' Situation

          Minnesota 13-6 on the road
          Colorado 13-6 on the road
          LA Angels 12-5-1 home
          Miami 14-6-2 home

          Best 'Under' Situation
          Atlanta 13-6 at home
          Brewers 15-6 at Miller Park.
St Louis 16-8-2 on the road

          Best/Worst Opening a Series
          San Fran (9-3), Colorado (9-4)
          Minnesota (3-9), Houston (3-9), Cubs (3-10)

          Best after One Run Loss
          Kansas City (7-1), Colorado (6-1)

          Worst after One Run Win
          Colorado (0-7), Cinci (0-6), Minnesota (0-4)

          Best/Worst after being blanked
          Cinci (4-0), Atlanta (4-1)
          Arizona (0-4), Cubs (1-4)

          Best/Worst vs Left-Handed starter
          Detroit (9-2), Milwaukee (6-1)
          Arizona (2-8)

          Best/Worst Interleague
          Milwaukee (5-1), Toronto (5-2)
          Philadelphia (1-6), Cubs (1-5), Cinci (1-4)

            Who's Hot - NL Edition
            By Mike Rose
            VegasInsider.com

The long road to October has begun in the bigs, as 30 teams with high hopes of being the next team to be a part of the Fall Classic have started their journeys.

There can only be so many winners in MLB betting action though, and today, we're looking at the top teams out of the gate in the National League.

San Francisco Giants (24-14, +$1,053) – Pitching wins championships. The Giants know that better than any other team in the game, as they have picked up victories in the Fall Classic because of their arms. This year though, it's not the starting pitching which is really doing it for San Francisco. Tim Lincecum has only posted a 5.55 ERA, while Matt Cain only has a 4.25 ERA and has yet to win his first game. Granted, Tim Hudson has been a fantastic pickup and could be set to win at least 15 games on the campaign, and Madison Bumgarner has once again put up a great season. It's the bullpen though, that has really been great. Sergio Romo has 12 saves in 13 tries this year, and Jean Machi has a 0.49 ERA and five wins out of the pen. Even when you look at this lineup, there are a lot of good bats here, and if guys like Angel Pagan (.314/.443/.805) and Michael Morse (.273/.537/.843) can continue to light it up at the plate, good things are going to continue for the boys by the Bay.

Milwaukee Brewers (24-14, +$1,048) – There isn't a better story right now in baseball than the Brew Crew. Francisco Rodriguez closed out his first 15 games and made it through his first 19 appearances without giving up a run, but he hasn't been the only man in this bullpen who has been virtually perfect. Will Smith has a 0.52 ERA in 17.1 innings of work, while Zach Duke has allowed just three runs in 17.1 innings of work as well. All of the starters have at least show some promise, and short of Matt Garza, all of the starters have ERAs of 3.53 or better. That's how you win lots of games. We can only imagine what this team is going to look like when Ryan Braun comes off of the DL after a freak injury suffered two weeks ago.

Colorado Rockies (23-17, +$587) – The Rocks are 13-5 at home this year, and they are really taking advantage of what Coors Field has to offer them. Offensively, this team is just insane at the moment, and it's because Carlos Gonzalez and Troy Tulowitzki are going bananas. As a team, Colorado is batting .302 with an OPS of .855. The team has 57 home runs and is averaging 5.75 runs per game. However, we have to remember that this is a team which historically has a lousy pitching staff. All those great numbers this time of year should probably yield better than a 23-17 record through 40 games. If there is a team amongst these three which could fall, this is the one we would be most wary of.

I bring this up for the above game. This falls under do what you want with the info...
The above game has trends and an umpire that favors the under. However !
There is zero pitching info on the numbers I use. When that happens I just move on to the next game.
If you like the under from your own handicapping. Then you got the right ump and a few trends on your side.
I totally forgot this super important handicapping tool.... yesterday we had a clear over on the same situation LAA vs Toro.. but I went for the road team...

Re: In The Dugout for Tuesday. 5/13

                MLB Odds and Picks
                By: Micah Roberts
                Sportingnews.com

LAS VEGAS -- The Padres' Andrew Cashner had gone UNDER the total in his first seven starts this season, but on Wednesday he lasted only four innings while giving up four runs (two earned) against Kansas City in an 8-0 loss. The total was six. It was Cashner's fourth loss in a row.

Tonight, he comes in as the slight underdog (+102) at Cincinnati where he'll face Mike Leake. So far this season, the Padres are 1-3 when Cashner comes in as the underdog. The total is set at 7.5 (UN -120) and Leake comes in with a similar streak as Cashner, having lost four straight. The Reds have stayed UNDER the total in his past three starts.

Leake has been deserving of a win in his last two turns where he allowed only two runs in each, but he hasn't been getting much offensive support. Cincinnati bats have scored only four times combined during Leake's last three outings. Cashner would love that type of support. The Padres have scored zero runs in his last three starts -- and not just while he was on the mound. They've been shutout completely in those three games. In eight starts, the Padres have averaged two runs a game behind Cashner.

San Diego has stayed UNDER the total in 24 of 36 games this season, which is just a slightly better ratio than Atlanta. However, the Padres scored 24 runs in a three-game win streak over the weekend against Miami. All three games went OVER. The Reds have stayed UNDER in 19 of 34 games and won eight of their last 11 at home.

Look for these two pitchers to have a nice duel tonight and keep things tight and UNDER the total.

                Gomez-Cole II

The Pirates can't like looking up at the NL Central standings and seeing Milwaukee 5.5 games up in first place, because that was supposed to be them. After making the playoffs last season for the first time since 1992, the fourth place Pirates have to look at the Brewers with envy. But they can do something about it tonight in Milwaukee and reboot their season.

The Bucs had a four-game win streak snapped Sunday in dramatic fashion against St. Louis, but taking two out of three in successive series against the Giants and Cardinals isn't a bad start to show some upward progression in what has been a sluggish start. Gerrit Cole and Carlos Gomez meet again after the two had a disagreement on code of conduct when the teams met and brawled in Pittsburgh on April 20.

Gomez flipped his bat, stood and stared at the well-hit ball off Cole that stayed in the park for a triple. When Cole confronted Gomez on third base, the benches emptied and then it was on. Unlike most of the tiffs between teams, these two teams actually threw some punches that connected. The Brewers would win the game, 3-2, in the 14th inning.

This should be an intense game, and fun to watch. The Pirates finally won a season series with Milwaukee last season, but the Brewers are back to their old ways beating Pittsburgh in six of the seven meetings so far. Estrada has been at his best against the Pirates, but lost his last two starts and has given up two homers in each of his last three. Look for a low-scoring game with a slight lean to Pittsburgh.

                Tuesday selections:

                Padres/Reds UNDER 7.5 (-115)

                Pirates/Brewers UNDER 7 (EV)

                Giants (Vogelsong) -103 vs. Braves

                Mariners (Iwakuma) -102 vs. Rays

                  Tuesday's MLB Betting Cheat Sheet
                  Covers.com

                  Cubs Cruise as Road Dog

The Chicago Cubs (+150) walloped the host St. Louis Cardinals 17-5 Monday for their biggest win of the season. Chicago improved to 5-7 as a road underdog against a divisional opponent; the Cubs (+222) resume their series in St. Louis on Tuesday.

                  Pomeranz a Heavy Favorite

Oddsmakers were rewarded for their faith in Oakland left-hander Drew Pomeranz last time out, as he tossed five shutout innings as a -157 favorite in his first start of the season en route to a 2-0 Athletics victory. Pomeranz is installed at a whopping -191 for Tuesday's duel with the visiting Chicago White Sox.

                  Rocky Mountain High

The Colorado Rockies have given Over bettors plenty of love on low totals, going 6-1-2 O/U in their last nine games with the number set at 8.5 or lower. Colorado (+140, 7.5) opens a three-game interleague series in Kansas City on Tuesday.

                  Pitching Notes

                  * Tampa Bay Rays lefty David Price is an underdog Tuesday for the first time all season, entering at -102 against Hisashi Iwakuma and the Seattle Mariners. Price is 5-1 in his last six starts as a dog, posting a sensational 1.38 ERA in those outings.

                  * Washington ace Stephen Strasburg has been a scoring magnet at night this season, going 4-0 O/U in four evening starts. Strasburg, who boasts a 3.31 ERA in night games compared to 2.60 in day outings, will be under the lights Tuesday when his Nationals (-129, 8) visit the Arizona Diamondbacks.

                  Batting Notes

                  * Yankees catcher Brian McCann is batting just .213 for the season; New York is just 3-9 against the moneyline in games in which McCann doesn't record a hit. McCann will look to bounce back Tuesday as the Yankees (-135, 8.5) host the cross-town rival Mets.

                  * San Francisco outfielder Angel Pagan went 3-for-4 in Monday's 4-2 win over Atlanta, helping the Giants improve to 21-7 in games in which he records at least one hit. Pagan and the Giants (-103, 7) welcome the Atlanta Braves to town Tuesday.

                  Totals Streak

Detroit Tigers (1-5 O/U): So much for having one of the most dangerous lineups in the majors. The Tigers have struggled at the plate during their Under streak, scoring more than four runs just once over that stretch.

                  Prop of the Day

The Baltimore Orioles have returned to their 2012 form when it comes to pulling out close games, having gone 9-3 in one-run affairs so far this season. The Orioles are a +375 longshot to win by exactly one run Tuesday against visiting Detroit.

                  Injury Notes

                  * Miami Marlins right-hander Jose Fernandez may miss the rest of the season with a torn ligament in his pitching elbow. The 21-year-old finished sixth in money won as a rookie in 2013 ($1,175) and is 12-0 with a 1.09 ERA in 20 career home starts.

                  * Toronto Blue Jays center fielder Colby Rasmus could be headed to the disabled list with a right hamstring injury. Toronto - which is 8-1 O/U in games in which Rasmus homers and 16-13-1 when he doesn't - opens a series Tuesday with the visiting Cleveland Indians (+106, 9).

                  Weather Watch

                  * Wind at Target Field is expected to blow out to right field at 8 mph. Minnesota, which hosts Boston (-106, 8.5), went 6-8 against the moneyline and 4-10 O/U in 14 games last season with the wind blowing in that direction.

                  * Citizens Bank Park will see wind blowing from right to left field at 10 mph for Tuesday's game between Philadelphia (-148, 7.5) and the visiting Angels. Teams combined to average 2.33 home runs in 12 games under similar conditions in 2013, slightly better than the stadium average.

                  Umpire of the Day

Under is 7-1-2 in umpire Bob Davidson's last 10 games behind home plate. Davidson will call the balls and strikes for the game between the Tigers (-105, 8.5) and Orioles.

3 Plays that just missed. But missed some pretty good size pieces.
Tigers / Orioles Under 8.5. This has a +10 edge over 4 seasons with the ump.

                          Was / Ari Over 8
This had a +7 edge in the +4 system. But 6 of those came in 2013 when the ump was 7-1 Over at today's number

                          TB / SEA under 6.5
Didn't fit under the +4 system either. Only holding a +2 edge.
