WHAT'S BREWING TODAY Monday, August 29 On Today's Scorecard Powering Up |
We will be breaking down each of the Power 5 conferences this week, with our first visit to the ACC. The Clemson Tigers had a bit of a rebuild last season, especially on offense. Still, they still won 10 games for the 11th straight year, which shows how solid Dabo Swinney's foundation is built. Now Clemson will have to do it without longtime defensive coordinator Brent Venables, who left for Oklahoma, and offensive coordinator Tony Elliott, who departed for Virginia. The feeling here, though, is he Tigers are going to look a lot like the Bulldogs did last season with a menacing defensive line. Meanwhile, the college football team that dominated the sport from the mid-1980s to the mid-1990s – Miami - has won 10 games in a season only once in the past 18 years, under Mark Richt in 2017. However, with QB Tyler Van Dykereturning, and new head coach Mario Cristobal back in south Florida, the U could be back in 2022. Click here to read more on the ACC for the 2022 season. |
