    Welcome Back Kotter
What a difference a year – or two – makes in our ever-growing world of football wagering.

Thanks to a worldwide pandemic, the college football world was gutted like never before in 2020. It started when spring practices were eliminated. A total of 38 unranked teams upset ranked opponents. As a result, 139 regular season games were canceled or postponed due to COVID-19.

Last season was the first time since 2016 that no major team finished the season undefeated.

A lot had to due with the fact the NCAA granted an extra year of playing eligibility to seniors, making them "super seniors" in 2021. Additionally, the NCAA extended the so-called "one-time transfer exception" to all D-I sports allowing players to transfer one time without having to sit out a year – via the 'Transfer Portal". With it a bevy of college football teams returned an inordinate amount of returning starters last season with no less than 92 teams embracing 16 or more starters back.

In 2022, however, the influx of returning starters is back closer to the norm with 23 teams welcoming 16 or more starters back. Click here to read more on this phenomenon here.

    Brady Hunch
ESPN reports that all of Tom Brady's absences with Tampa Bay this offseason have been approved by the team, although it is highly unusual for NFL teams to grant that sort of flexibility.

Brady has been given off days in the past, but this is the first time he's taken a significant amount of time away from the team during training camp or the preseason in 23 years.

Head coach Todd Bowles was noncommittal on Thursday when asked by reporters about a return date for the quarterback, who has been away from the team since August 11 to tend to what has been described as "personal things."

I have a hunch there is a lot more going on under the surface of Brady's absence.

Dallas is 2-9 SU and 1-10 ATS in Game Two of the preseason, as well as 1-5 SUATS versus AFC West foes in exhibition games.

The LA Chargers are 9-2 SUATS in this preseason series, as well as 10-3 SUATS versus NFC North opponents in the preseason.

With the Bolts returning home off a 7-point home upset loss last week, look for an electrifying effort by the Chargers tonight.
