| The 2022 PAC 12 football season starts where it ended last year when Utah claimed its first-ever conference football title. The Utes are the choice of most scribes to repeat their success this season, although the new regime at USC, led by new head coach Lincoln Riley, is winning over the favor of many. Along with USC, fellow defector UCLA could be a Top 25 team provided head coach Chip Kelly improves its defense, while also rebuilding a strong offensive line. Meanwhile, four new had coaches take the reins in 20202, including the aforementioned Riley, along with Dan Lanning at Oregon, Kalen DeBoer with Washington and Jake Dickert at Washington State. | Cleveland has become a Domestic Violence haven for troubled football players. With QB Deshaun Watson accepting an 11-game suspension for his role in the ugly massage parlor fiasco, he joins Kareem Hunt who joined the Browns in 2019 after a domestic violence incident at a Cleveland hotel while the running back and Cleveland-area native was a member of the Kansas City Chiefs. Hunt assaulted a woman in a hallway in an incident that was captured on video. The Chiefs quickly severed ties with Hunt, who was the NFL's leading rusher as a rookie in 2017. Hunt has effectively stayed out of trouble since joining the Browns. Cleveland owner Jimmy Haslem said, "I think in this country and hopefully in the world, people deserve second chances, I really think that." He went on to say, "Is he (Watson) never supposed to play again? Is he never supposed to be part of society? Does he get no chance to rehabilitate himself?" Even if the case is closed, the fact of the matter is the jury is still out. |
