Unlike MLB, the NFL does not have a farm system or a developmental program to groom its players. In essence, they rely solely on college football.

A survey of the college football programs that produce the most talent at each position, per analysis from ESPN, that combines college and NFL success dating back to 1998 (the start of the BCS era). For instance, on offense:

QB U: Oklahoma (runners-up: USC, Oregon, Alabama, Louisville)

RB U: Alabama (Wisconsin, LSU, Miami, Oklahoma)

WR U: USC (LSU, Alabama, Oklahoma, Ohio State)

ESPN Stats & Info reports that after finishing with the best record in MLB at the All-Star Break, the Yankees are 8-16 since.

In closing out our subtitle tribute to Elvis, while we're on the subject of regression to the mean, NFL Preseason games have gone 14-3 OVER since the Hall of fame game in Canton on August 4.

Last year they went 6-10 to the UNDER in Game Two of the preseason.

With oddmakers focused on adjusting this week's totals based on last week's results, a return to the norm figures to be in place this year.
