    WHAT'S BREWING TODAY
    Sunday, August 7

    On Today's Scorecard
    Training Camp Crystal Ball
With NFL training camps now open, NFL Nation has made predictions on what to expect with each team.

It kicks off in the AFC East where Buffalo WR Zack Moss, a third-round pick from the 2020 draft, will be a player to watch during camp because he needs to prove he deserves a role.

And speaking of WRs in the AFC East, they predict that NY Jets receiver Denzel Mims will be traded before the regular season. Despite an encouraging offseason, the 2020 second-round pick is no better than fourth on the depth chart among outside receivers. Because he doesn't play special teams, Mims doesn't have game-day value unless he's part of the receiver rotation.

    Speed Kills
When Arizona Cardinals WR Marquise 'Hollywood' Brown was pulled over for going 126 MPH this week, head coach Kliff Kingsbury commented, "We're still working through the details of it all but glad to have him back."

His first thought was 'glad to have him back'? They need to take his driving privileges away and suspend his ass.

It was just nine months ago that drunken Las Vegas Raiders WR Henry Ruggs plowed into and killed a 23-year-old girl while doing 156 MPH while tossing her SUV 570 feet down the road.

C'mon Roger Goodell. It's time to grow a pair and kick them out of the league before another innocent bystander is maimed.
    Grinding Out The Profits
    Inside Out
When newly acquired Frankie Montas made his last start for Oakland before he was shipped to the Yankees he beat Houston, 5-3, in a game in which he hurled 5 innings while allowing 7 hits 3 runs and 2 walks – and picked up the win.

In other words, he won the game with 'inside-out' stats.

He'll face Cardinals right hander Adam Wainwright who loves home cooking where he owns a 1.79 ERA with a 1.06 WHIP this season as opposed to a 4.47 ERA and a 1.52 WHIP on the road.

No smoke and mirrors here. Look for Wainwright to improve on his lofty 16-4 team start record in his last twenty games in August today.
