| It's Week Ten of the 2022 MLB season and with it two teams from the Big Apples sit atop ESPN's current Power rankings – the New York Yankees and the New York Mets. Go back to the preseason and you will have found the Pinstripes ranked sixth with a projected record of 94-68, while the Mets were eighth overall with an expected record of 87-75. Safe to say they are outplaying their expectations, with the Yankees ranking among the top teams in the majors in wOBA, home runs, ERA, WHIP, run differential and opponent batting average. The Mets have benefitted from RBI machine Pete Alonso (59 in the 62 games he's played) and reversal of fortune from SS Francisco Lindor, whose 52 RBIs are only eleven short of his total overall production in 2021. | The Jets and the Ravens will each start the season by playing every team in the AFC North and AFC East, respectively. It will mark the first time for both teams to open the season against four teams from the same division since the 1970 merger. |

| When Seattle sends Marco Gonzales to the hill against James Kaprielian and the Athletics this evening they will do so knowing he is Gonzales is 4-0 in his last four team starts in this series while Kaprielian is 0-5 in his last five team starts in June. In addition, the mariners are 6-0 in their last six games in Oakland. With Kaprielian sporting 7.92 ERA with a 1.47 WHIP at home this season, and allowing 8 BBs with only 6 Ks in his last three starts, expect him to get cracked once again tonight. |
