    Re: MLB Betting Info. 4/10

    Preview: Cubs at Diamondbacks
GAME: Chicago Cubs (4-1) at Arizona Diamondbacks (2-4)
    DATE/TIME: Sunday, April 10 – 4:10 PM EST
    WHERE: Chase Field, Phoenix, Arizona
    LINE: N/A TOTAL: N/A
The Chicago Cubs beat the Arizona Diamondbacks’ ace Saturday and Arizona will try to return the favor in Sunday’s series finale. Reigning National League Cy Young Award winner Jake Arrieta makes his second start of the season for the Cubs opposite snake-bitten right-hander Shelby Miller, who has won only one of his past 26 starts dating to last May.
Chicago has taken two of the first three games in the series after a 4-2 victory in which the Cubs tagged Zack Greinke for three early runs. “It’s just a really deep lineup,” Greinke told reporters. “That’s probably the toughest part about it. They’ve got some damage in the middle, but a lot of teams have damage in the middle. Their lineup is just deeper than most.” If there’s anything working in Miller’s favor Sunday it’s that he has fared well against many of Chicago’s top hitters, including Anthony Rizzo (2-for-11), Jason Heyward (3-for-12), Kris Bryant (1-for-5) and Dexter Fowler (0-for-8). Arrieta also has neutralized Arizona star Paul Goldschmidt, who is 1-for-7 with four strikeouts against the right-hander.

PITCHING MATCHUP: Cubs RH Jake Arrieta (1-0, 0.00 ERA) vs. Diamondbacks RH Shelby Miller (0-0, 9.00)
Arrieta has posted 21 consecutive quality starts in the regular season dating to last June and 29 straight scoreless innings. He was in midseason form opening day, needing only 89 pitches to get through seven innings while holding the Angels to two hits and a walk. Arrieta has faced the Diamondbacks three times since joining the Cubs, going 1-1 with a 2.61 ERA.
Miller suffered plenty of tough luck last year with the Braves, but that was not the culprit in his 2016 debut. The 25-year-old was tagged for six runs and eight hits over six innings in a loss to Colorado, and he surrendered three home runs. Miller has pitched fairly well against the Cubs, going 1-2 with a 2.83 ERA in seven meetings (six starts), but lost both starts against them last season.
    WALK-OFFS
    1. Cubs OF Jorge Soler has struggled to a 2-for-17 starts but is 4-for-9 with two homers against Miller over the past two seasons.
    2. Arizona 2B Jean Segura went 0-for-4 on Saturday after starting the season with five straight multi-hit games.
    3. Fowler has reached safely in 15 of his 24 plate appearances to start the season.
    PREDICTION: Cubs 4, Diamondbacks 1

      Preview: Yankees at Tigers
GAME: New York Yankees (3-2) at Detroit Tigers (3-1)
      DATE/TIME: Sunday, April 10 – 8:10 PM EST
      WHERE: Comerica Park, Detroit, Michigan
      LINE: N/A TOTAL: N/A
Justin Verlander and Masahiro Tanaka made strong statements right out of the gate in their respective season-opening contests, only to be left with a no-decision following a premature exit. The aces of the Detroit Tigers and visiting New York Yankees look to pitch deeper into the night on Sunday at Comerica Park when the clubs play the rubber match of the three-game series.
Verlander would be wise to keep a keen eye on Alex Rodriguez, who collected his third hit in two contests with his 688th career homer in Saturday’s 8-4 victory over Detroit. The 40-year-old Rodriguez is batting .331 in his career against the Tigers, including a four-game home run streak in games that he has faced the 2011 American League MVP and Cy Young Award winner. Detroit tasted defeat for the first time this season despite Jose Iglesias recording his third consecutive multi-hit performance. The 26-year-old Cuban has tormented New York in his young career, recording 25 hits in 24 contests for a .316 batting average.

PITCHING MATCHUP: Yankees RH Masahiro Tanaka (0-0, 3.18) vs. Tigers RH Justin Verlander (0-0. 4.50)
Tanaka showed no ill effects with his surgically repaired right elbow on Tuesday, allowing two runs on four hits in 5 2/3 innings versus Houston. The 27-year-old Japanese star was not as successful in a pair of outings against Detroit last season, losing one decision while yielding eight runs on 13 hits in 11 1/3 frames. J.D. Martinez belted two homers off Tanaka as Detroit flexed its muscle with a 12-4 rout at Yankee Stadium on June 21.
Verlander kept Miami at bay into the sixth before the wheels fell off on Tuesday, scattering three runs on as many hits in the inning. The 33-year-old has struggled of late against the Yankees, failing to record a win versus them since 2012 while posting a 5-7 career mark with a 4.03 ERA in 17 starts. While Verlander has endured issues when facing Rodriguez, the right-hander certainly has gotten the better of Mark Teixeira by limiting him to an .083 career average (3-for-36) with 11 strikeouts.
      WALK-OFFS
      1. New York 2B Starlin Castro is 9-for-20 in five games this season, a stark contrast to his 6-for-32 performance in eight career meetings with Detroit.
      2. Tigers 2B Ian Kinsler is 8-for-19 with five RBIs and five runs scored, but is 0-for-6 versus Tanaka.
      3. Yankees OF Jacoby Ellsbury has hit safely in four straight games.
      PREDICTION: Yankees 3, Tigers 2
