Boston Bruins goaltender Jonas Gustavsson was activated off injured reserve on Thursday after being cleared from a recent heart incident.
Gustavsson experienced an elevated heart rate during a game against the Anaheim Ducks on Jan. 26 and transported to a hospital. Tests performed were negative.
The level of concern was high as Gustavsson has previously been diagnosed with a heart condition. He has undergone three minor procedures with the most recent one occurring in 2011.
In a corresponding move, the Bruins assigned goaltender Malcolm Subban to Providence of the American Hockey League.
--The Los Angeles Kings activated forward Kyle Clifford from injured reserve before their game against the Anaheim Ducks.
The 6-foot-2, 206-pound Clifford missed 24 games after suffering an upper-body injury in early December.
In 26 games earlier this season for the Kings, Clifford had three assists and 28 penalty minutes.
--The New Jersey Devils activated defenseman John Moore off injured reserve, the team announced.
Moore was sidelined with a lower-body injury.
He returned to practice on Wednesday. Moore has 10 points (three goals, seven assists) in 43 games.
--Winnipeg Jets forward Alexander Burmistrov was fined $2,000 by the NHL for embellishment.
According to NHL Rule 64, a warning and then fines are assessed to players and teams that repeatedly dive and embellish in an attempt to draw penalties.
Burmistrov was cited for the second time this season on Jan. 26 after he drew a tripping penalty on Coyotes defenseman Michael Stone at 7:45 of the third period.
--The Washington Capitals recalled defenseman Aaron Ness from the Hershey Bears of the American Hockey League, the team announced.
Ness, 25, has two assists in eight games with the Capitals this season. He signed with the team as a free agent last summer.
--The Detroit Red Wings recalled defenseman Jakub Kindl from Grand Rapids of the American Hockey League.
Kindl played in 23 games for the Red Wings earlier this season and had five points (two goals, three assists).
