NHL notebook: Blackhawks acquire F Sekac from Ducks

The Chicago Blackhawks acquired forward Jiri Sekac from the Anaheim Ducks for forward Ryan Garbutt.
The 23-year-old Sekac had three points (two assists) in 22 games with Anaheim in 2015-16, his second season in the National Hockey League.
Sekac split the 2014-15 campaign with the Ducks and Montreal Canadiens, collecting 14 assists, 23 points and 22 penalty minutes in 69 regular-season contests. He also appeared in seven 2015 Stanley Cup Playoffs games with Anaheim.
Garbutt, 30, has collected six points (two goals, four assists) in 43 games with Chicago this season after being acquired from Dallas on July 10, 2015. He has notched 76 points - 32 goals - over 241 career games with Chicago and Dallas (2011-15).
---The Boston Bruins will have forward David Krejci back on the ice after activating him from injured reserve.
The Bruins also assigned forward Frank Vatrano to Providence of the American Hockey League before Boston's game against the Vancouver Canucks on Thursday night.
Krejci has missed the past three weeks with an upper-body injury suffered in a game against the Ottawa Senators. The Bruins have gone 5-4-1 in the 10 games that Krejci missed.
---The New York Rangers signed veteran free-agent forward Daniel Paille on Thursday, the club announced.
The 31-year-old Paille received a one-year contract. Paille has been playing with the Rockford IceHogs of the American Hockey League this season.
Paille has 85 goals and 87 assists in 570 NHL games over 10 seasons with the Buffalo Sabres and Boston Bruins. He played for Boston last season and had six goals and seven assists.
---The Philadelphia Flyers recalled center Sam Gagner from Lehigh Valley of the American Hockey League on Thursday before their game against the Pittsburgh Penguins.
Gagner was loaned to the Phantoms on Dec. 30 after he was waived by the Flyers. The 26-year-old has appeared in 18 games for the Flyers this season, logging two goals and three assists.
---The Minnesota Wild recalled forward Jordan Schroeder from the Iowa Wild of the American Hockey League, the club announced.
Schroeder, 25, had one goal in 11 games with Minnesota earlier this season. He has 10 goals and 14 assists in 92 games with the Vancouver Canucks and Wild.
