NHL notebook: Oilers sign G Talbot to extension

The Edmonton Oilers signed goaltender Cam Talbot to a three-year contract extension on Sunday.
Financial terms were not released, but TSN reported Talbot's contract is worth $12.5 million with an average annual value of $4.17 million.
Talbot, 28, was in the final season of his current contract with a salary-cap charge of $1.45 million and could have been an unrestricted free agent after the season.
Talbot is 8-13-3 with a 2.58 goals-against average and .914 save percentage in 26 games this season. He has started 11 of the Oilers' last 12 games, accumulating a 1.79 goals-against average and 939 save percentage.
---The Winnipeg Jets placed center Adam Lowry and right winger Drew Stafford on injured reserve with upper-body injuries. The moves are retroactive to Jan. 14.
Lowry has 10 points (three goals, seven assists) in 41 games this season. Stafford has 24 points (14 goals, 10 assists) in 44 games.
The Jets also recalled forwards Patrice Cormier and JC Lipon from the Manitoba Moose of the American Hockey League.
---The St. Louis Blues recalled defenseman Andre Benoit from the Chicago Wolves of the AHL.
Benoit, 32, has played in 37 games for the Wolves this season, ranking second with 25 points, including a team-leading 21 assists.
---The Chicago Blackhawks reassigned forward Bryan Bickell to the Rockford IceHogs of the AHL.
Bickell, 29, has registered two assists in 23 games with the Blackhawks this season. He has recorded 14 points (seven goals, seven assists) in 12 games with Rockford.
Bickell was selected by Chicago in the second round (41st overall) of the 2004 NHL draft.
---The Minnesota Wild reassigned defenseman Mike Reilly to the Iowa Wild of the AHL.
Reilly, 22, has played in four games for Minnesota, with no points, after being recalled from Iowa on Jan. 8. He has 18 points (five goals, 13 assists) in 32 games with Iowa this season.
