The teams who had two or more picks in Thursday's first-round of the draft made out like bandits.

The Detroit Lions (Adrian Hutchison and Jameson Willimas), NY Jets (Sauce Gardner, Garrett Wilson and Jermaine Johnson II), NY Giants (Kayvon Thibodeaux and Evan Neal), Baltimore Ravens (Justin Hamilton and Tyler Linderbaum), and Kansas City Chiefs (Trent McDuffie and George Karlafatis) all ripped the door handle off the first round with the value they got based on the PFF draft board.

For what it's worth, Trayvon Walker, the top pick of the draft, was ranked No. 12 on the PFF Big Board.

A major winner was Kenny Pickett, who was not only taken as QB1 in the draft class but also went to a dream destination and stays in his college stadium.

One of the biggest losers was QB Malik Willis, rumored to go as high as No. 2 in some circles when he was passed by in the first-round.

Georgia's defense, one of the premier college football units in recent decades which allowed just 10.2 points per game, and the NFL's version of the 1985 Bears, now stands alone as the first defense to produce five first-round picks in the NFL draft, surpassing the four defensive players drafted out of Miami (2004) and Florida State (2006).

Trayvon Walker, the top pick in the draft, said. "From a college standpoint, they'll probably compare us to the Chicago Bears defense back in the day."

Remember, Jermaine Johnson II, the Florida State DE also taken in the first round, started his career with the Bulldogs. And, ironically the highest graded Georgia defender by PFF, LB Nakoe Dean, was not selected.

Through it all Georgia made history less than four months after bringing the SEC school its first title in 42 years.

We think Walker's onto something there.

Word has it that Sir Jim Ratcliffe, Britain's wealthiest man, has put a bid for 4.25B pounds ($5.3B dollars) to buy Chelsea from Russian owner Mark Abromovich who was disqualified from the Premier League and is under scrutiny worldwide for his ties to Russian autocrat Vladimir Putin amid that country's invasion of Ukraine.

The best part of the bid is that 2.5B pounds is committed to the Charitable Trust to support victims of the Ukraine war, with 1.75 pounds committed to investment directly into the club over the next 10 years.
