Cubs acquired LHP Jose Quintana from the White Sox for OF Eloy Jiménez, RHP Dylan Cease, 1B Matt Rose, and INF Bryant Flete.
The first big trade-deadline domino has fallen, with the defending World Series champs securing a top-flight starting pitcher as they aim to rebound from a disappointing first half. Quintana owns a 4.49 ERA in 104 1/3 innings this season, but he was in a nice groove leading into the All-Star break and the 28-year-old left-hander carries a very team-friendly contract that could keep him in a Cubs uniform through 2020
