    Preview: Marlins at Diamondbacks

Weather information is currently unavailable. 5-Day Forecast
GAME: Miami Marlins (31-29) at Arizona Diamondbacks (26-36)
    DATE/TIME: Friday, June 10 - 9:40 PM EST
    WHERE: Chase Field, Phoenix, Arizona
    LINE: N/A TOTAL: N/A

After reaching double digits in runs for the first time in nearly two months, the Miami Marlins look to remain perfect against the Diamondbacks this season when they begin a three-game series in Arizona on Friday. Miami salvaged the finale of its three-game road interleague set versus Minnesota with a 10-3 victory on Thursday, matching its season high in runs first accomplished with an identical 10-3 road win over the New York Mets on April 11.

The Marlins hope to continue swinging hot bats against the Diamondbacks, whom they outscored 15-7 during a three-game sweep at home from May 3-5. Arizona is continuing a nine-game homestand that began with the club losing two of three to Tampa Bay. The Diamondbacks have had considerable success against Miami at home recently, winning seven of their last 11 meetings at Chase Field. Jean Segura leads Arizona with a .290 average but has recorded only one hit in 11 at-bats over his last three games.

TV: 9:40 p.m. ET, FSN Florida (Miami), FSN Arizona

PITCHING MATCHUP: Marlins LH Justin Nicolino (2-3, 4.37 ERA) vs. Diamondbacks LH Patrick Corbin (3-5, 4.73)

Nicolino is winless in six starts despite allowing three runs or fewer on four occasions, including each of the last three. The 24-year-old Floridian managed to yield only two runs against the New York Mets on Saturday while giving up nine hits and a walk over 5 1/3 innings of a no-decision. Nicolino posted his last victory on May 3 despite surrendering four runs on seven hits and three walks over six frames in his only career start against Arizona.

Corbin ended his two-game skid on Sunday as he allowed two runs and five hits over seven innings in a triumph over the Cubs in Chicago. The 26-year-old from Clay, N.Y. has yet to win at home this season, going 0-4 with an abysmal 7.94 ERA in five outings. Corbin is 1-0 with a 3.79 ERA in three career starts against the Marlins, including a no-decision at Miami on May 3 in which he yielded three runs and five hits in 5 1/3 frames.

    WALK-OFFS

    1. Marlins RF Ichiro Suzuki recorded his third consecutive multi-hit performance Thursday to raise his career hit total to 2,973.

    2. Segura is Arizona's co-leader in triples with four - one shy of his total last year while with Milwaukee.

    3. Miami RHP A.J. Ramos has converted 27 straight save opportunities dating back to last season.

    PREDICTION: Diamondbacks 6, Marlins 3

GAME: Cleveland Indians (33-26) at Los Angeles Angels (26-34)

WHERE: Angel Stadium of Anaheim, Anaheim, California

The Los Angeles Angels have been one of the most disappointing teams in baseball during the first 60 games of the season and are in a deep funk as they open a three-game series against the visiting Cleveland Indians on Friday. Los Angeles was outscored 29-14 while suffering a four-game sweep at the hands of the New York Yankees and has lost six of its last eight games to fall a season-worst eight games under .500.

The Angels are 11 games behind the first-place Texas Rangers in the American League West and possess the third-worst record in the AL. "We're just, right now, not winning enough situations on the field," Angels manager Mike Scioscia said after Thursday's 6-3 loss to the Yankees. "And there's some tangible reasons why and there's some things that we hope we can do better and that's what we're going to focus on." Cleveland is coming off a four-game split at Seattle to open a 10-game excursion and leads the AL Central by three games over Kansas City and Detroit. Indians center fielder Tyler Naquin hit a tiebreaking two-run homer in the eighth inning of Thursday's 5-3 win over the Mariners and all four of his homers have come in June.

            Preview: Rangers at Mariners

Weather information is currently unavailable. 5-Day Forecast
GAME: Texas Rangers (37-23) at Seattle Mariners (33-27)
            DATE/TIME: Friday, June 10 - 10:10 PM EST
            WHERE: Safeco Field, Seattle, Washington
            LINE: N/A TOTAL: N/A

The Texas Rangers won three straight games against Seattle last weekend and look to post another three-game sweep of the Mariners when the American League West combatants open another series Friday. Texas outscored the Mariners 20-9 in its home ballpark and has won 15 of its last 19 overall games as it embarks on a 10-game road trip starting in Seattle.

The first-place Rangers begin their lengthy excursion with a four-game lead over the Mariners, who split a four-game set with the Cleveland Indians to open a seven-game homestand. Left-hander Derek Holland will be on the mound for Texas and he is 2-0 against the Mariners this season and 12-4 in his career. Seattle second Robinson Cano smacked two homers in Thursday's 5-3 loss to Cleveland to raise his season total to 18, tied for third most in the majors. Rangers designated hitter Prince Fielder is off to a miserable start with a .193 average and just four homers and his blast in Thursday's 5-3 win over Houston was only his second since April 19.

10:10 p.m. ET, FSN Southwest (Texas), ROOT (Seattle)

PITCHING MATCHUP: Rangers LH Derek Holland (5-4, 4.53 ERA) vs. Mariners RH Hisashi Iwakuma (4-5, 4.13)

Holland allowed two runs and three hits in seven innings against the Mariners on Sunday and tossed 6 2/3 innings of four-hit shutout ball in Seattle on April 12. He has pitched well over his last four outings with a 2.45 ERA despite splitting four decisions. Holland has consistently had issues retiring Cano, who is batting .372 with two homers and nine RBIs in 43 at-bats against him.

Iwakuma is 0-2 with a 3.00 ERA in three 2016 starts against the Rangers and took the loss when paired against Holland on Sunday. He allowed three runs (one earned) and four hits in seven innings to drop to 8-5 with a 3.35 ERA in 17 career appearances (16 starts) against Texas. Iwakuma is 2-2 with a 5.46 ERA at home and opposing hitters are batting .303 against him at Safeco Field.

            1. Mariners 3B Kyle Seager is batting .320 with 15 homers in 94 career games against Texas but is batting just .188 with one homer in nine contests this season.

            2. Rangers 3B Adrian Beltre (hamstring) didn't play in Thursday's win over Houston and is listed as day to day.

            3. Seattle chose college OF Kyle Lewis (Mercer) with the 11th overall selection of Thursday's draft, while Texas selected prep LHP Cole Ragans (Tallahassee, Fla.) with the 30th pick.

                Preview: Dodgers at Giants

Weather information is currently unavailable. 5-Day Forecast
GAME: Los Angeles Dodgers (32-29) at San Francisco Giants (36-25)
                DATE/TIME: Friday, June 10 - 10:15 PM EST
WHERE: AT&T Park, San Francisco, California

The Dodgers and Giants renew their rivalry with a three-game series beginning Friday in San Francisco after a alteration to the rotation allowed Los Angeles to use Clayton Kershaw in the opener. The Dodgers' ace left-hander, who owns the lowest ERA in baseball at 1.46, is 17-7 with a 1.60 ERA in 33 games (32 starts) versus the Giants - 9-3, 1.23 in 16 appearances (15 starts) at AT&T Park - while San Francisco counters with Johnny Cueto, who is thriving in his first season with the Giants.

Los Angeles manager Dave Roberts said he was not manipulating the rotation when he decided to give right-hander Kenta Maeda an extra day last week to rest a sore hand, which also moved Kershaw back. “It’s all about accumulating wins,'' Dodgers catcher A.J. Ellis told reporters. "I don’t think it matters if Clayton pitches against the Giants or (Wednesday) against the (Colorado) Rockies. Right now, it’s a race to 90 to 95 wins, and you want to accumulate them as fast as you can.” First-place San Francisco leads Los Angeles by four games in the National League West after splitting two contests with Boston while the Dodgers dropped two of three to the Rockies this week. The Giants are 4-5 in their last nine games - batting .193 during that span - since a 15-2 stretch vaulted them into control of the NL West.

PITCHING MATCHUP: Dodgers LH Clayton Kershaw (8-1, 1.46 ERA) vs. Giants RH Johnny Cueto (9-1, 2.16)

Kershaw is 6-0 with a 0.81 ERA in his last seven starts after yielding three hits and striking out a season-low four in six innings of a 4-0 victory over Atlanta on Saturday. The 28-year-old Texan has 109 strikeouts against six walks with a 0.65 WHIP and .168 batting average against this season. Brandon Belt is 3-for-43 with 23 strikeouts and Buster Posey is batting .220 in 82 at-bats versus Kershaw, who is 1-0 with a 2.40 ERA in two starts against San Francisco this season.

Cueto is 6-0 with a 1.52 ERA in his last eight starts after allowing an unearned run and walking a season-high five in six innings of a 5-1 victory in St. Louis on June 3. The 30-year-old Dominican pitches on six days rest and is 4-9 with a 3.01 ERA in 34 starts with at least that much time in between turns. Cueto is 4-5 with a 3.16 ERA in 10 starts versus Los Angeles - 2-0, 4.40 in two outings this season - and has the most trouble with Chase Utley (10-for-26, one home run).

                WALK-OFFS

                1. Posey could return to the lineup Friday after missing three games because of nerve irritation in his right thumb, an injury that Giants broadcaster and former major league pitcher Mike Krukow said is the type that "definitely will linger this whole year.''

                2. SS Corey Seager leads the Dodgers in home runs (14), RBIs (35) and batting average (.283) with his homer and RBI totals second among all rookies in baseball to Colorado SS Trevor Story.

                3. The Giants have won four of the seven meetings this season, and after Sunday they do not meet again until Aug. 23.

                PREDICTION: Dodgers 2, Giants 1
