Re: CHUMLEE FROM 'PAWN STARS' ARRESTED

Chumlee is taking a plea deal.
Austin Lee Russell, known as "Chumlee" on Pawn Stars, said in court Monday that he's taking a plea deal that would keep him out of jail on charges filed after guns and drugs were discovered in a search of his home in March.
David Chesnoff, Russell's lawyer, confirmed that the popular reality TV star, will plead guilty to a felony weapons charge — unlawful possession of a firearm —and to a gross misdemeanor of attempted drug possession, in a deal calls for three years' probation and counseling.
If he stays out of trouble until 2019, the felony charge would be dismissed and Russell would be left with only a misdemeanor conviction on his record, Chesnoff said. If not, he'll face two to five years in state prison on the weapon possession charge.
Chesnoff said the proposed deal must be approved by a Clark County District Court; Chumlee is due back in court June 1 for that hearing.
Chesnoff called the outcome of the case "a just result."

Russell, 33, was arrested March 9 after police searched his home on a warrant stemming from a sex-assault case. No charges were filed in connection with that case and Russell has been cleared, Chesnoff said.
During the search of his home, police found a dozen weapons, ranging from registered handguns to a shotgun and unregistered assault-style rifles, plus a gallon bag of pot, anxiety medication and a small amount of methamphetamine at his home.
Russell is required under the plea deal to forfeit the guns and the drugs.
Meanwhile, his status on Pawn Stars is unchanged, Chesnoff said.
An official with A&E Network and the History Channel told the Associated Press that Pawn Stars, about the goings-on at a major Vegas pawn shop where Russell works, is not currently in production.
