That young qb for Pitt is gonna do well bleeker and here's a buddy, a local Pitt guys writeup on this game By DIRTYDOG:

Last week as soon as I saw the opening line on the Pittsburgh at Chargers game (6.5) I said I would jump on the first Pittsburgh +7 that I saw, unfortunately a solid +7 never did materialize but that is okay as I went ahead and gobbled up Pittsburgh +6.5 as I was fearful of losing the hook and didn't wanna pay extra for it. After the first five weeks Pittsburgh has faced the league's 7th ranked SOS (strength of schedule) and have produced a mark of 1-4 straight up and 3-2 ATS, meanwhile, the Chargers have faced the NFL's 29th schedule and produced a record of 2-3 straight up and 1-3-1 ATS.

Obviously Pittsburgh has performed much better against a tougher slate of competition then what the Chargers have faced, toss out the Steelers 3-33 loss in week one at New England and their other three losses have come by a combined 9 points! If Steeler QB Ben Roethlisberger were playing the line on this affair would probably be a pk'em affair, the line placed on this contest is due to Pittsburgh being forced to play what is essentially their 3rd string QB whose name is Devlin Hodges and is an undrafted free agent.

I watched this kid play at Samford, a small D1 college where he won the Walter Payton Award which is the small college equivalent of the Heisman Trophy, ever hear of Jimmy Garoppolo, Tony Romo, or Steve McNair? Those are three other QB's that also won the Walter Payton Award, Garoppolo and McNair were drafted but Tony Romo was not. Will Devlin Hodges achieve the same success that McNair or Romo had? Who knows.

This much I do know....Steve McNair owned the FCS career passing record for 25 years until Devlin Hodges shattered that record and along the way set new records in attempts (1896) and completions (1310) and completion percent with an eye opening 69.09 completion rate. Pittsburgh needs to turn this kid loose!! Give me PITTSBURGH +6.5 over the Chargers.

Take care and be well my friends

    Jim

              Re: sunday night **** ** lac/pitt

He's the guy who enters the numbers from opening to closing, he's a great guy, almost 80 and looks like 50 unbelievable, been a pro gambler for over 50 years. He uses lines from a number of different spots in Vegas and offshore plus his own opinion to come up with what you see. So his decision is final over there for everything line related where he tries to be as impartial as possible using prevailing lines from those sources. As you know lines are different everywhere you look so it's a tough job but I think his knowledge of the games and experience make their lines the fairest to grade on
