$300 Wyoming/New Mexico St. under 46 $WINNER$ (+300)
Thursday August 30th, 2018
$400 New Mexico St. +20 Line just went to 20, which I expected. There is bound to be a steady flow of Minnesota money after that dreadful opener by New Mex St. Their offense looked almost incapable of running plays early in that game. That can happen when a team is breaking in a new QB against a very good veteran defense. This week the roles are reversed, Minnesota starts a true freshman WALK-ON QB and a freshman RB against a solid experienced defense. The Aggies defense wore down last week, Wyoming held the ball for over 40 minutes. Their offense was so inept early in that game that the defense played nearly the entire 1st half. They did finally put together a 90 yard scoring drive in their final possession. With one game under their belts they should do much better against the Gophers who lost a lot of defensive line production from last year's team which allowed 4.9 ypc on the ground. I am waiting to see if perhaps 21 comes, if it does I am pouncing. LOSER (-440)
$400 Tulane +7 (-120) Wake breaks in either a freshman or red-shirt QB here, gone is Sr QB Wolford who led them to be the most improved offense in 2017. In a similar spot against a similar offense Wake escaped with a 1 point win at Appl. St. last season. Tulane has an experienced QB with NFL prospects and 9 returning starters on offense. If their defense steps up they are legitimate bowl team. They also have the added motivation brought on by missing a bowl by 1 game last year. Facing a 10 win USF team at home last year the Green Wave lost by 1 possession, this is very possibly a SU underdog win here. $WINNER$ (+400)
