Phillies acquired 2B/OF Howie Kendrick from the Dodgers in exchange for IF/OF Darnell Sweeney and 1B/OF Darin Ruf.
The Phillies are viewing Kendrick as their everyday left field for now, but the feeling is that there's a good chance they'll trade Cesar Hernandez and install Kendrick at second base

Christopher Meola reports that the Blue Jays have signed Kendrys Morales to a three-year, $33 million contract.
FOX Sports' Ken Rosenthal and Jon Heyman of FanRag Sports have confirmed the report. Heyman adds that while Edwin Encarnacion is capable of playing first base, him re-signing with the Blue Jays "seem less likely" now.

Jon Morosi of MLB Network reports that the Giants have had recent discussions with the Tigers about a trade for outfielder J.D. Martinez.
The Giants have been mentioned as a possible fit for free agent outfielder Yoenis Cespedes, but Martinez is an intriguing alternative on the trade market. He's under team control for just one more season and the Tigers don't expect to engage in extension talks, so dealing him somewhere appears to be likely.

According to Rob Bradford of WEEI, the Red Sox, Blue Jays, Yankees, and Astros have shown the most interest in free agent Carlos Beltran.
Bradford also hears that the Rangers are not currently involved in the bidding and don't seem inclined to make a serious run at re-signing the veteran outfielder.

ESPN's Buster Olney reports that the Braves are "among the most serious bidders" for free agent catcher Jason Castro.

Bill Brink of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reports that the Pirates are among several teams who have talked with free agent left-hander Derek Holland.

Bob Dutton of the Tacoma News Tribune reports that the Mariners "remain interested" in trading for Reds shortstop Zack Cozart.

Jon Morosi of MLB Network reports that the Dodgers have been in touch with the Tigers about a possible trade for Ian Kinsler.
It looks like a good fit. The Tigers are willing to trade off some parts in order to get younger and the Dodgers have a vacancy at second base with Chase Utley in free agency and Howie Kendrick recently traded to the Phillies. Kinsler is owed $11 million in 2017 with a $10 million club option (or $5 million buyout) for 2018. His contract includes a partial no-trade clause. For what it's worth, Morosi hears that the Tigers have interest in Dodgers' prospect Cody Bellinger,

Kinsler agent has said that he will only waive his limited no trade if an extension is worked out as well. Question is how many and how much for the 34 year old?

Probably at least guarantee the option year is what he would want

Astros acquired C Brian McCann and cash considerations from the Yankees for RHPs Albert Abreu and Jorge Guzman.
The two sides have been linked for a couple of weeks now and they were finally able to get a deal done. McCann also had to waive his no-trade clause. Per ESPN's Buster Olney, the Yankees will cover $11 million of the $34 million owed to McCann over the next two seasons

Braves signed RHP Bartolo Colon to a one-year, $12.5 million contract.
The deal was agreed to last week and then finalized Thursday after Colon passed his pre-signing physical. The veteran right-hander posted an impressive 3.43 ERA and 1.21 WHIP in 191 2/3 innings this past season for the Mets, but he turns 44 years old next May and it's not yet clear how the Braves' new ballpark will play. Atlanta also signed 42-year-old starter R.A. Dickey earlier this month.

According to Jon Heyman of FanRag Sports, the Marlins have serious interest in free agent Kenley Jansen.
What the Marlins really need is starting pitching, but there aren't many options available on that front and Heyman says the club is thinking about "putting together a super pen" instead.

FOX Sports' Ken Rosenthal reports that the Rangers are close to signing Andrew Cashner.
MLB.com's T.R. Sullivan says it's a one-year, $10 million contract. Cashner is from Texas and the Rangers have been connected to him before, so this pairing doesn't come as a surprise.

Twins sent 3B Trevor Plouffe outright to Triple-A Rochester.
Plouffe will officially decline the assignment and become a free agent soon. He was projected to earn over $8 million in his final year of arbitration, which isn't a salary the Twins were eager to give the career .247/.308/.420 hitter.

Jeff Passan of Yahoo Sports reports that the Cardinals have agreed to a four-year contract with Brett Cecil.

A legitimate upgrade for the Twins, who have needed a reliable catcher since Joe Mauer moved off the position in 2013

Diamondbacks acquired RHP Taijuan Walker and SS Ketel Marte from the Mariners for 2B Jean Segura, OF Mitch Haniger and LHP Zac Curtis.
A Thanksgiving Eve blockbuster. In Walker, the Diamondbacks will be bringing in a 24-year-old right-hander who still figures to have several years of development left on his bones before he reaches whatever his ceiling might hold for him.
